But, USC didn't. It was a very good game until a PI call on a VT WR inside the USC 10 that changed the game. And VT also played an Auburn team that IMO should have played in the title game the very same year very close losing 16-13.

That's the reason they need to schedule decent competion instead of William And Mary. They need to play with better OOC teams in season (especially since the ACC is way down) to ever be respected.

I do wish VT had a better OOC. But at the time no one would have guessed the ACC would be so down.

there's no reason to get pissed b/c Seth Greenberg owns Gary Williams
but i do find it funny anytime i post something about VT (even threads having NOTHING to do with football), the ONLY argument against them is "well they haven't won the national title"...umm, and?? just because your team won a NCAA title in 1734 doesn't mean you're relevant and won't help you win your next game
what has Maryland done in basketball since VT joined the conference...besides never record a win in Blacksburg

I understand you'll want to tell everybody that you have scheduled and played maybe 5 or 6 teams in the past decade, that is great. Do more of it.
The only thing is you haven't WON a big game. You might want to do that first before you start cracking on other teams. Maybe you can argue with someone from Duke over football but it ain't gonna happen until you win a BIG game. It is one thing to play in them, WIN one. Nuff said.
